Prior to HGSE, Carúmey held roles in DEI, adult learning, and quantitative and qualitative research at various companies and organizations ranging from the NIH and CDC to Fortune 500 companies. In her work, she focuses on the design and implementation of programs, practices, and products that promote inclusion and accessibility for all users. Currently, Carúmey is exploring her passions for equity, design, and technology through her coursework and design-based AI research at MIT. She received her B.S. from Cornell University in Human Development, where she focused on the intersection of human behavior and built environments with a specific lens towards championing human-centered design practices for historically marginalized communities. Carúmey is excited to be awarded the Equity &amp; Inclusion Fellowship to continue her lifelong journey and commitment to remaining curious and empathetic in an effort to co-create a more equitable world for all.
