Barbara Birungi Mutabazi is a Ugandan social entrepreneur, mother, and institution builder whose work focuses on expanding economic opportunity for women and young people. Over the past 15 years, she has founded and built organizations working across education, technology, workforce development, entrepreneurship, and inclusive finance, including Women in Technology Uganda, Hive Colab, and Nsimbi Impact. Her work has largely been rooted in implementation, working alongside government, development agencies, the private sector, and communities to turn ideas into programs that reach people. Barbara holds an MBA from MIT Sloan and is currently pursuing an Ed.M. in Education Leadership, Organizations, and Entrepreneurship at HGSE. She is increasingly interested in how lessons from implementation can shape public policy and systems change, particularly in education, workforce development, and women’s economic empowerment across Africa.
