Ivan Bogantsev

Ivan is from Russia and is an Ed.M. candidate in Education Policy and Analysis. Before attending HGSE, Ivan worked at the Russian National Science Museum (2010-2018) as the Deputy Director for Education. He then became the principal of the European Gymnasium, an international private school in Moscow. From 2018 to 2023, Ivan led a comprehensive redesign of the school, where he was responsible for managing change, dismantling traditional school hierarchies, and integrating value-based thinking to ensure that every decision—whether now or in the future—was guided by the values shared by the community. Ivan holds a BSc in Philosophy from the London School of Economics, a Master's in the History and Philosophy of Science from École Normale Supérieure in Paris, and a PhD in Philosophy from the Higher School of Economics in Moscow.
