Alexis O. Harewood

Alexis O. Harewood is an education and leadership professional with more than a decade of experience spanning K–12 education and education philanthropy. A former Boston Public Schools classroom educator, Alexis has a deep commitment to creating equitable, engaging learning experiences that empower students and communities. As a Senior Program Officer at the Nellie Mae Education Foundation, Alexis led youth-centered initiatives and advanced participatory approaches to philanthropy and racial equity. Alexis holds an M.Ed. from UMass Boston and is a graduate of the Boston Teacher Residency program. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education Leadership at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. A Massachusetts- licensed educator, Alexis brings expertise in curriculum design, professional learning, literacy instruction, and youth engagement. Alexis is also trained in Wilson Reading System Intensive Intervention and has been recognized for exceptional student impact and leadership in education and philanthropy.
