Francisca Elgueta

Francisca is a Chilean teacher and educational leader committed to advancing educational justice. A high school history teacher for over 14 years, she has taught in schools serving historically marginalized communities, including schools supporting young people who had been pushed out of the traditional education system. These experiences shaped her conviction that education should strengthen young people’s agency and their power to shape their own lives, communities, and futures. Francisca is the founder and Executive Director of Escuela Global, a nonprofit that works alongside teachers across Chile to create transformative learning experiences and position educators as agents of change in their schools and communities. She is currently pursuing an Ed.M. at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she is exploring how leadership and collective action can contribute to more just and transformative educational systems.
