Tommy Gonzalez
Tommy Gonzalez is pursuing a Doctorate in Education Leadership at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where he explores adaptive leadership, liberatory design, and systems change as tools for sector transformation. An education strategist, former public school principal, and equity architect, he brings more than a decade of experience transforming schools and systems to improve outcomes for historically underserved communities. As principal of a California public middle and high school, Tommy led a significant turnaround that produced double-digit gains in college and career readiness, literacy, and progress for multilingual learners. He has also served as a speaker, advisor, and thought partner to education leaders and mission-driven organizations across the United States. Tommy holds bachelor’s degrees in Philosophy and Political Science from UC Santa Barbara and a master’s degree in Public School Building Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University.
